The Symantec support is pretty clueless of what may be causing that and as typical with tech support they point the finger "at the other guy". If it was a Windows issue, it would affect more than one icon, but so far it's the SEP icon that keeps going to the hidden icons drawer every couple of days or even more frequently. None goes to the hidden icons drawer on its own. I have several other icons that I keep visible in the system tray and they all stay I argue with them that SEP is the ONLY icon that keeps hiding itself on its own. This became a really annoying in Windows 10,īut it also happened with Windows 7, albeit far less frequently (once every few weeks or so). They say that they can't recreate the problem and that's a Windows issue as Symantec doesn't control the visibility customization setting. I've opened a support case with Symantec as this became very annoying. It usually doesn't take more than 3 reboots (I usually boot up once a day, so at most 3 days)įor the icon to disappear from the visible system tray icons. On its own it decides to go to the hidden icons drawer sometimes on the next reboot. Unfortunately, SEP icon will not stay visible for long. I'd like to keep certain icons visible in the system tray for status of the application at a glance, quick access to settings, etc. I use Symantec Endpoint Protection as my antivirus solution. I've got this weird issue happening on multiple computers.
